NTE: Neverness to Everness — Preview

NTE takes place in Hethereau, a supernatural urban metropolis where humans and "Anomalies" coexist. Players take on the role of the city's first unlicensed Anomaly Hunter, working out of Eibon, a run-down antique shop that survives by taking on Anomaly-related jobs. The setting mixes everyday city life — trains, shops, street food — with recurring supernatural elements (Oddities, Espers, and other anomalous residents). The official description also teases larger overarching threads, including an organization called "the Circle" and recurring "Prophecies," without giving away specifics. No major plot spoilers have been detailed publicly, so it's kept intentionally vague here too.

Gameplay Systems

Based on the official feature breakdown, four core pillars have been outlined:

1. Exploration & City Life An open-world city (Hethereau) built around everyday activity layered with supernatural encounters — commuting NPCs, anomaly chases, and district-specific characters.

2. Story & Companions A cast of companion characters with distinct personalities (an antique shop crew, robotic butlers, hunter-faction members). Side stories and relationship-building ("Bagel" friends) are part of the social loop.

3. Social & Faction Systems Meeting different in-game factions and organizations, with implied ongoing side content tied to the hunter world and street-level communities.

4. Customization & Traversal Vehicle customization, a fast-travel system ("Ghost Train") through Anomaly space, seasonal shop stock, and player-owned housing that can be decorated.

Combat and progression systems (skill trees, gear, difficulty structure) are not detailed yet in the official materials reviewed - this is a gap to watch for in future updates.

Editions & Pricing

No multiple editions or bundles are currently listed on the Steam store page. The game is marked Free to Play with in-game purchases. No further monetization breakdown (battle pass, gacha-style systems, cosmetics-only, etc.) has been officially detailed as of this writing.

Conclusion — Pre-order or Wait?

Since NTE is free-to-play, there's no pre-order purchase decision involved — cost risk is effectively zero, and wishlisting is the only current action available. The bigger open question is the depth of combat and progression systems, which haven't been detailed yet, plus how monetization is structured once it's live. Worth wishlisting and watching for a closed beta or early gameplay footage before forming firm expectations; not enough is public yet to judge whether it delivers on the open-world RPG pitch.
