Halloween: The Game releases globally on September 8, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Built on the enduring legacy of John Carpenter's 1978 slasher classic, the game brings Michael Myers back to Haddonfield in a package that blends narrative-driven horror with tense asymmetrical multiplayer. Cross-platform play is supported across all systems, and the digital launch is set for 9:00 AM Pacific.

Release Date, Platforms, and Cross-Play

Release date: September 8, 2026, 9:00 AM Pacific.

Cross-play: Supported across all platforms, letting friends play together regardless of hardware.

Physical release: October 6, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Pricing and Editions

Pricing splits into two digital tiers, giving players a choice between standard access and an early-entry option for those eager to jump in ahead of the crowd.

Standard Edition costs $39.99 and is available at full launch.

Advance Access Edition costs $59.99 and was playable from September 4, four days before the official release.

Collector's Edition costs $149.99 and arrives alongside the physical release on October 6.

Game Modes: Campaign and Multiplayer

Single-Player Campaign

A six-chapter campaign retells the horror from Michael Myers' own perspective, with narration from Dr. Samuel Loomis guiding players through the psychological weight of the story.

1v4 Asymmetrical Multiplayer

Set in Haddonfield on Halloween night, 1978, this mode pits one player controlling Michael Myers against up to four others playing as the Heroes of Haddonfield, each side relying on different strategies to survive or hunt.

Development Team

Development was handled by IllFonic, the studio behind Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds, once again teaming up with Gun Interactive. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5, aiming to bring cinematic horror visuals to both campaign and multiplayer.

Director John Carpenter and franchise producer Malek Akkad contributed creative direction to keep the game faithful to the source material.

Nick Castle, who originally played Michael Myers in the 1978 film, returned to provide motion capture for the character.
